How to embed Forms and Quizzes inside the Stream Video
The functionality I am about to describe is not new. We could embed Microsoft Forms surveys and quizzes inside Stream videos for a long time. However, this was when we had Stream Classic. With the Stream migration to SharePoint, that functionality became unavailable for a while. Well, now it is back, so you know what that means – a new blog post from Greg on how to embed Forms and Quizzes inside the Stream Video! 😊
Why embed Forms and Quizzes inside videos?
When you embed forms and surveys inside videos, you can truly create an interactive experience. An example could be a training video with a quiz in the middle of the presentation or perhaps a form with a survey to get employees’ opinions on topics covered in the Town Hall video recording.
How to embed Forms and Quizzes inside the Stream Video
Step 1: Obtain the URL of the Form you want to embed
- Navigate to the Form you would like to embed inside the Video. In the upper-right-hand corner of the Form, click on Collect responses.
- Choose the type of link you want to generate and click Copy link.
Step 2: Paste the Form’s URL inside the Stream Video
- Click on a video you want to embed a Form in
- Once the video file opens in Stream, click on the Interactivity tab, then Add new > Add form.
- Paste the link you copied in Step 1, then choose the time within a video where you want to embed the Form. Click the small checkbox to save the changes.
Experience for the Users
Once users watch the video, it will pause at a given timestamp. The user can then fill out the form and click submit right within the video. After that, the user can click on Continue to video to proceed. It is important to note that the form is not mandatory, and the user does not need to fill it out. Users can skip the Form or Quiz and continue to the video using the same button.
